Baked Kale Chips

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a recipe on my blog but so many people have been asking for more so here is a new recipe for those that are interested in healthy living. Kale is one of the healthiest foods on the planet and has powerful antioxidant properties and is also considered an anti-inflammatory food. It is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K, vitamin, C, lutein and Calcium. Click HERE to learn more about the health benefits of Kale.

If you are looking for a good way to get more greens in your diet then this is a good way. Baking Kale into chips is the easiest recipe EVER and it is also delicious. Here is the recipe:

1 bunch kale (I used Lacinato or “Dinosaur” Kale)
Olive oil (I use the spray kind because its easier)
Sea salt, to taste (sometimes I use hickory smoked salt for that gourmet effect)

Preheat oven to 300°F.

-Rinse and dry the kale, then remove the stems and tough center ribs and cut into large pieces

-Spray lightly with olive oil (or toss with olive oil if you don’t have the spray kind)

-Then sprinkle with salt (go light on the salt, its easy to over-do it)

-Arrange leaves in a single layer on a large baking sheet (I also lined mine with parchment for easy clean-up but you don’t have to)

-Bake until crisp. Keep an eye on them because its really easy to burn them

TA-DA! Hope you enjoy…

  1. Thanks for this. Definitely gonna give it a try — I’ve always thought kale was a four-letter word but this sounds like it might actually be tasty. 😉

  2. Looking forward to trying these. Have recently started adding raw kale as a salad base  along with spring mix and (cooked) lentils. Kale adds a lot of substance.
